RANDOM NOTES
The Spring show season continues this weekend. The Cattaraugus County Rabbit & Cavy Breeders present their annual show tomorrow at the Olean Mall in Olean, NY. I was actually considering going to this one, until I heard the weather forecast so I think I'll just stay home instead. On Sunday the Ohio Valley RBA has a show at the Fairgrounds in Eaton, Ohio. Next weekend there are two shows on the same day in the Tri-State Area. April 21st has the Butler County, PA show at the Butler Farm Show grounds and the Tuscarawas County RBA has it's Spring show in Dover, Ohio at the county fairgrounds. Got all that?
Last Saturday I had my first experience of showing a rabbit. I brought my lionhead José to the Lisbon, Ohio show. Of course because lionheads are not a recognized breed, we had to wait until the very end of the show to get judged. There was only one other lionhead he was up against, a siamese sable from Dawn Guth. Dawn's rabbit won Best of Breed, and José took Best Opposite Sex. I'll be taking José to the Butler show next weekend, so we'll see how he does there. Good or bad, I'm still going to take him to the Lionhead Nationals on May 4th. The registration deadline is today so I decided to go for it. I'm not expecting anything other that a fun experience.
Have a great weekend!
